The East Dunbartonshire advisory clinic model
Governance International has published a case study highlighting the work of the East Dunbartonshire Advisory Clinic, set up to address the issue of an aging population in the the area, based strongly on the principles of co-production and involving both statutory and voluntary organisations in reshaping care.
The clinic through their co-productive approach aims to:
Support people to live independently at home or in a homely setting through the provision of information, advice, support, anticipatory and crisis planning, carers education and support, more informed and confident staff and consistent responses.
The clinic model was developed by East Dunbartonshire Council’s Social Work Department in partnership with the Community Health Partnership and three third sector partners, Alzheimer Scotland, Ceartas Advocacy and Carers Link.
The clinic is also being used by the Scottish Government's Joint Improvement Team, which supports the Scottish Co-production Network, to highlight best practice around co-production between third and public sector organisations and the promotion of self-management.
